FAQ
Q - What is the thickness of the roof sheet?
A - Our roof sheets are 2.5mm in thickness, very strong and durable.
Q - How much light is transmitted through the roof sheet?
A - The light transmission is between 70% - 80%.
Q - What roofing profiles are available?
A - We are able to supply roof sheets in all the standard Roofing profiles. This includes - IBR (Inverted Box Rib), Widespan, Nurib and corrugated.
Q - What is the width of IBR roof sheets?
A - IBR has a width of 740mm but because of the overlap for water proofing the effective coverage is 686mm.
Q - How do I calculate how many sheets I will need?
A - You multiply the width of your structure by 1.5. That means if you have a 4m width you will need 6 roof sheets.
Q - How do I install / fasten the roof sheets?
A - We, as do other sheeting manufacturers, advise the use of a Tec Screw with a 'flange or wing'. The purpose of this is to oversize the hole to allow of expansion and contractions due to temperature fluctuations.
Q - Are the roof sheets 'Hail Proof'?
A - We are very confident that our sheets will withstand the severest of hail stones. The recent very sever hail storm in Midrand & Sandton on the 23rd of November 2023 did no damage to our existing installed roof sheets!
Q - Are the roof sheets UV resistant?
A - Yes, all our raw material is supplied with a UV8 factor built into the raw polyethylene polymer material directly from our supplier. The UV is not 'coated' onto the sheet after manufacture as is the case with other similar products.
Q - What does UV8 mean?
A - UV8 is an undertaking from the polyethylene supplier to be completely UV tolerant for a minimum of 8 years. Most other products carry a UV2 or UV4 tolerance.
Q - Do you supply any form of Warranty / Guarantee?
A - Our roof sheets have a 10yr Warranty!
Q - How easy are the sheets to install?
A - The roof sheets are very 'forgiving', they do not crack, scratch or shatter whilst installing, which makes them ideal for DIY projects at home.
